Photography has been my longest lasting passion in life. Other interests and hobbies have come and gone, but photography remains. I am the friend at outings or on trips who will inconspicuously pull out my camera to try to capture the moment. I’ve thought about why I do this, why it’s as important to me to “capture the moment” as it is to “be in the moment.” And I think it comes down to wanting to stop time. To be able to go back and relive every memory over and over again, which in turn helps me to be in the moment even when it is long gone. The photos are not always technically perfect, but the essence of the memory is.
I’ve been doing this for years in my own life, with my own family, during my own travels, and I love it so much that I want to do it for other people.
My style and approach may not be for everyone. I am more interested in going with your family to an ice cream shop or hanging out at your house with you than posing with a “1,2,3…click.” That's not to say that posed portraits don't have their place or importance, because they do, but it's not the heart of what I want to do. It's the moments when that pose falls apart and the laughs and emotion are genuine. And unpredictable. And beautiful. That's what I want to capture. Well that and epically beautiful landscapes, because who doesn't love traveling and seeing all that this amazing world has to offer? I am drawn to both the grand and the intimate, because both deserve to be remembered and relived over and over long after the moments have passed.
